Tornado Blog from Radio Sandy Springs

The City of Atlanta and surrounding areas were very lucky Friday and Saturday and my heart and prayers go out to those materially were not so lucky.

With all the destruction that occurred and not to loose a life in downtown Atlanta is amazing and there must be a reason. We'll probably never no that reason but must accept it as something bigger than we are.

I don't know how the station could ever help but if we can let us know.

If you were in the tornado how about sending us a reply.

Tune in daily for the greatest shows on radio and tomorrow for the Infectious Disease Hour when we interview Dr. Pat O'Neal Director of Georgia's Medical Preparedness in DHR.

Thanks,
Radio Sandy Springs

From David's Desk - Let IT Go Media

Obviously all the news or feature stories anyway, have been about the Governor of New York. I think he, without a doubt gets hypocrite of the year, so far. He is stupid, dumb, totally self centered and only cares about himself and obviously the "moment". We all figured that out. The victims are his three daughters and that makes me very sad for they did nothing and yet will carry this the rest of their lives. How could a father do that to his children?

We live in a very unsettled world and as road rage continues as a world we all seem to only care for "ME". It is my opinion that we must get back to caring for each other, right from wrong and most of all care about the young folks we call "our kids" that we've brought into this world. It is sort of like an ex-president, that didn't have sex in the Oval Office, what an example he set for kids of all ages. Well, if it's OK for the president then it must be OK for everyone. Great Guy and real family man, right!

Pat Montgomery does a good job with her show Parent's Rule. You know parents have to start being parents by teaching, by disciplining, and by loving!

These are my views at 6AM I don't think they'll change.

Have a Great Day today it's supposed to be beautiful while tomorrow may not be quite so nice.

Radio Sandy Springs Political Blog & Comment

Unless your head was in the sand somewhere, and actually that sounds like a very good idea, you've heard about the governor of New York and his romp in D.C. It is my opinion that once again the media is taking this to extreme. The guy is obviously a jerk and although a lawyer and supposedly after the bad guys when he was NY state attorney. The reality is he is no better than the guy that cut in front of you going to work today. He's no better than Clinton or anyone else that says in words or deeds the laws are for you not me except when I need them.

My wife and I talked about this last night and concluded again the Gov is just stupid, the media is making too much of something that unfortunately done every day around-the-world and probably shouldn't even be considered a crime. If one is stupid enough to pay $4000 to play then crown him (or her) dumb dumb of the day.

The real victim and I've really thought about them is the Gov's three daughters. I didn't include his wife who may very well be a victim but without knowing all the circumstance who knows maybe the Gov had a reason - other than stupid.

Frankly I'd like to have your comments to know what others are thinking!

Were You Listening?

Friday, Gina McNew better known as Diva in the House had as her guest Nanette Duffey Miss Organized Instincts. What an inspiration to get your stuff together, in fact I was so inspired I did as an old client used to do to get organized. I went out got a big box and dumped my desk into it and it is amazing I found the top of my desk and it's not bad looking. Now here's the deal, if within one year I don't need anything in that box then I dump it.

Well I had to work yesterday and enjoyed Dr. Bryan's KeyWord message, Marcy and Jewish Brunch with the JT Bunch, Ted Daywalt and VFW Career Call, but mostly I enjoyed getting the computers back up and running. It seems like when one thing happens it all happens at the same time. I wonder how those little people inside our computers do that.

OK, great guest from Northside Hospital - Hospitalist Dr. Greg Lewis followed by all the rest of Monday's talent and don't forget your update on the Bird Flu at 5 PM with a report from Sharon from FluTrackers.com.

www.radiosandysprings.com keeps you informed from bed bugs to grass growing you can depend on us to keep you up to date and listen tomorrow Tuesday the 11th for a new show at 4PM all about health and alternative ways to stay healthy!

SET YOUR CLOCKS FORWARD!

Radio Sandy Springs Changes Clocks

Why don't we split the difference someday and either set the clocks forward or backwards a half hour and just leave them alone. I love fall and setting the clocks back but I never really get that extra hour cause I so used to getting up that I just get up an hour early. One just can't win with some things but, one always wins when they listen to Diva in the House, Master Gardeners, Temple of Health, The National Museum of Patriotism Hour and all the rest of the absolutely super radio shows on www.radiosandysprings.com. For example: Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Arts with the best chefs each week doing a wonderful show it is an experience just to listen they are really good! Every Tuesday from 11AM to 12PM, if this show doesn't make your mouth water nothing will!

Wednesday, name another radio station in the nation from Los Angeles to New York, Dallas, Chicago that has this kind of programming Dr. Marty Belson from PEMA the Emergency Room Doctors at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital right here in Sandy Springs. Oh my goodness, mothers and dad, mothers and dads to be and anyone with children or grand children this is a must place to listen or download. YOU have to listen to this show if you have kids!!!

Primaries

Well another big day in media coverage and the only fallout is Huckabee which was sort of a no brainer. So what has been accomplished? In a word, nothing in my opinion. Well I guess a lot of printers and television stations are happy to have more money thrown their way. It kept the broadcasters talking and the analyst analyzing and I still don't care.

The campaign has been going on for two years now or longer and any fool can point out problems but I have yet to hear a solid answer to fixing anything. The same fools can make vast empty, unattainable promises like Radio Sandy Springs is going to have an air signal bigger than any radio station in Georgia, right just after pigs fly!

My choice of candidates, and I hope others see this also, is the individual that has and will stand up and speak the truth, present a legitimate plan of action, and not just promise hot air. Watch the sky for pigs flying!

Big Day in Texas

Although it is a big day in Texas (all days are big in Texas) well for the voter's anyway and also in Ohio where they are expecting bad weather.

So not that you care but I do care about who is elected and it is absolutely terrible to listen to the candidates say nothing. So far the democratic stand has been either against or "I'm for change" well OK what are you going to do to fix it? "I'm for change". It is a shame that our country can not bring forth candidates right or wrong, left or right that can't come forth with a stand on an issue.

Frankly I write this only because I hate to think of my son in the Air Force and the prospect of one of these candidates, one in particular, that doesn't even honor the flag, being Commander-in-Chief when my son is in serving you and me.

Radio Sandy Springs wants only what is best for the country and to apply our constitution to policy and to defend our rights and our freedoms to the end. If for one second you think the terrorist want that or have gone away or can be negotiated with then you are wrong! I don't know how you feel about snakes but I have my opinion.

You're welcome to comment and Texas Voters don't let the country down!

Yesterday

I didn't really get to spend any time outside yesterday as those that had shows and came into the studio can attest to but, I did get a few chances to look out my window and then when I left realized what an absolutely beautiful day it had been.

For each of you I hope that you got to take in the day, big breaths of fresh air and took a moment to reflect. For some of you and I do hope it was actually many of you, that your thoughts, reflections and prayers went to our thousands and thousands of military folks around-the-world that are putting their lives on-the-line to protect and let us enjoy a beautiful day like yesterday. We are so fortunate to have that privilege. By-the-way if you haven't heard it, tune in at 7AM and listen to a few moments from the Ironhorse 4th Infantry Division, Iraq. Out of my home state (Ft. Hood) TEXAS!

What are your thoughts?

Who's Listening?

The questions is asked of me many times and always has been. And, I suppose that's fair. I've always known we had "radio" listeners it is just impossible to track unless and over the three years they have, at least a few have, called and told us they were in their car and listening to a show. So, I've always known there was someone out there.

But, now instead of asking me, as Lee Anne Culpepper, Design Tips with Lee Anne. She has a great story about a lady that was driving through Sandy Springs, listening to Radio Sandy Springs and called her later.

Point of this Radio Sandy Springs Blog - we do have folks listening and growing daily!
